The 2023 Representative Sport Trials Parent Information sheet for Years 5 and 6 students in 2023 is available.
ELIGIBILITY - EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) NOMINATION FORM
To be eligible for selection for these trials the 2023 CSPD Primary Sport TEAM Registration Form must be completed.
One form is to be completed per child, per individual sport.
Each sport has its own criteria therefore, it is imperative that the correct sport information is completed.

Please note that your online registration is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ONLY and MUST be approved by the child's school.
For the child to attend the nominated trial below, the school approves students based on playing history and selection criteria.
RUGBY UNION TEAM SPORT TRIALS INFORMATION (FOR APPROVED STUDENTS ONLY)
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY - Students born in 2011 & 2012 can participate.
Please note student born in 2013 & 2010 cannot trial for Diocese or MacKillop as NO students who 10 and 13 year old students are eligible for selection.
Students must meet the Minimum/Maximum Height & Weight Restrictions to trial. This policy aims to protect the safety and welfare of age grade rugby players by trying to ensure that participants with broadly compatible physical development and skill levels play with and against each other.

It is important to note that these trials are generally for those students that MUST demonstrate an ABOVE AVERAGE ability, HIGH LEVEL OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT or in particular sports demonstrate REPRESENTATIVE playing experience in their nominated sport. In most sports, students should have experience playing regular competition outside of school.
It is very important to note that these trials are generally for those children who display an above average ability in their chosen sport. While teams are open in age it is strongly recommended that only children of a representative standard in Years 5 & 6 be invited to attend.
Students must attend the selection trials to be eligible for selection.
Any APPROVED student who cannot attend trials for any valid reason must contact the Primary Sport Teaching Educator (Margaret Thornton) prior to the trial. Selections will be made on performance at the trial. Selectors will be appointed based on their experience and background in a particular sport.

A team will be selected between 20 - 22 students, who will represent Parramatta Diocese.
Players selected MUST be available to attend all pathway levels below:
- Parramatta Diocesan Rugby Union Trials - April 2023 (Carlingford)
- NSWCPS MacKillop Rugby Union Trials - Sunday 25th June & Monday 26th June 2023 (Forbes)
- NSWPSSA Boys Rugby Union Championships - Tuesday 22nd - 24th August 2023 (Camden)
Sport Safety Guidelines
Mouth guards are mandatory and appropriate footwear must be worn for students to participate at the Parramatta Rugby Union trial.

Hat, sunscreen, water bottle and appropriate footwear (conform to the laws of the game) must be worn by the student.
All relevant medical conditions should have been included on the nomination form. (e.g. asthma, bee stings, allergies etc).
